Summary | 0002855: Backup Service
Description | A service that many users might find useful would be a means of backing up their music library to an offsite location for safekeeping. This could generate ongoing revenues as well. The way I envision this is that: -user clicks a backup button -they're exposed to a UI similar to the device synchronization config UI -user is promted to enter credit card info on a web site -instead of synching to the device, MM 'synchs' selected content + the DB to the backup service -Restore button would do the opposite Amazon S3 can provide the back-end for the backup service--: http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html?node=16427261 Cost is minimal: # $0.15 per GB-Month of storage used, # $0.20 per GB of data transferred. We could have a small markup (or see if there are affiliate fees from Amazon for this).
