| Description | Suggested by User_Dale in bug 481: In 'mexp' for winamp, ['find more from same' via hyperlinks] is achieved by making every cell in the tracklist a hyperlink of sort. It does this by putting the contents of the cell directly in the search box when the user ctrl-right-click's the cell. This could be implemented in the same way which would be very useful and / or it could use the data in a "more-from-same" jump. implementing this would actually mean the right-click more-from-same set of options could become one option, rather than a branch, as it would be context sensitive. Using ctrl-right click to do a more-from-same based on the clicked cell's info, and using alt-right click to do a search using the cell's info are two fairly simple implementations of the hyperlink idea that are powerful and quick for the user. - As well as having the options close at hand in the right click menu for those not aware of the shortcuts. | ||||

This sounds like a good idea, however, given the range of context options, this kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? e.g. user selects track and presses <ctrl>, right-clicks, and then _must navigate to Find More from Same_ in the context menu. If we want the user to be able to do this immediately, and without thinking, this wouldn't accomplish that (largely due to the need to navigate the context menu). This only saves the step of choosing whether the user should find more from same artis/genre/etc.. I like the idea, but I'm not sure how to implement this in a way that would meet the objective of browsing the collection effortlessly. Setting priority to 'high' to evaluate in the future. |

actually, you've misunderstood my description a little. if you simply right click, you see the context menu and can choose "more from same" or "search field" (this is for people who don't know the shortcuts. however, if you ctrl-right click or alt-right click, it doesn't show any context menu at all, it simple does the action with the cell contents you clicked on. |
