Tested in 1054 and I noticed some strange behaviour, though I'm not sure if it's a bug:

-enabled automated analysis
-restarted MM and saw that automatic analysis starts with an 'April Wine' directory. Closed MM.
-moved the contents of the April Wine directory with Windows Explorer
-restarted MM --> automatic analysis analysed a different directory as would be expected
-Closed MM
-Moved the contents of the April Wine directory with Windows Explorer back to their correct location
-Restarted MM
-->MM didn't automatically analyze the contents of the April Wine directory!!

Maybe this isn't a bug, but I just want to understand why this would occur--I would have expected that the tracks would be analyzed in a deterministic/consistent order.

That's not a bug. It's because speed-up of the auto-analyzer (we're not using any ordering for used SQL queries like by song ID etc.).
