Summary | 0003399: Install MM3 to Program Files\MediaMonkey3\ -- Revert
Description | This is in order to ensure that: a) failed upgrade won't prevent MM2 from being used b) MM2.x Gold users that don't carefully read the announcements won't get screwed if they upgrade to MM3.x but don't have a 3.x license.

Fixed in build 1061. - Not only the default folder is different, but also MM3 has now its own uninstallation. |

As discussed, there's a problem here: The user will inadvertently uninstall their registry settings when they uninstall MM2.x. Possible solutions: a) common unistall/uninstall, common registry & leave the MM2 directory behind (commont reg). not clean. b) switch to .ini file (would be great for portability as well) c) warn the user in the instaler (this doesn't completely solve the problem, but makes a) more palatable because then the user is choosing to install to a different directory. |

I'm no longer happy with this for a couple of reasons: 1) The problem described above 2) Third party apps (minilyrics / Gforce) expect MM in the /MediaMonkey directory. This breaks those apps. I'm suggesting we revert this change. |
