Summary | 0003492: Bookmarking and podcasts improvements
Description | I'm have few ideas about bookmarking and podcast support. Bookmarking - there could be an option to play track from beginning even if there's stored any playback position for this track. Podcasts - nice feature could be an per-podcast settings of beginning/ending offset for podcast's tracks (like begin play from position XX secs and end at XX secs from end). Many podcasts have any kind of intro/outro in it's tracks and this functionality can be very useful to skip this 'annoying' part of the track.

I am for more fine grained control over the podcast subscriptions, but we need more room for this. I would suggest to split subscription dialog accordingly: |[ Subscription channel info ]| Custom Subscription Rules | | | Podcast URL: [________]| | Title: [________]| | Description: [____________________________] | | | Login: [________] Password: [________]| and when the second tab is selected: | Subscription channel info |[ Custom Subscription Rules ]| | | [x] Customize subscription rules for this podcast | | When new episodes are available: [_do_nothing___________^] | | [x] Delete episodes older than... | ... | | ... | | [x] Overwrite existing episode tags with info from podcast feed | Initial bookmark: [_0:00___] (skip intro)| | Final skip: [_0:00___]| | Download podcast to [C:\MyMusic\Podcasts\<date>-<artist>-<title>[>>]] i.e. the last three options (Initial bookmark, Final skip, Download podcast to) would be also customizable per each podcast feed as Petr suggested. Assigning to Rusty for review. |

If we ever decide to implement this, we should start by implementing it for each track in Track Properties as iTunes has it (i.e. specify Start and Stop time for each track). Than adding this feature would only mean to automatically set the time for each downloaded episode. |

I agree, we can implement 0004921 first, and then implement this. Note: we should use the same terminology as in 0004921 (Start-time; Stop-time). Assigining to Petr for feedback--I don't quite understand the Bookmarking proposal. |
