Summary | 0003517: Skins: Misc. improvements to better support Glided
Description | Many features have been added to the skinning module to satisfy my needs for my skin Glided. Petr has done a marvelous job. There are, however, some last few updates remaining; some of them connected to needing small, new features in the skinning module. These are; 1) Overlaying album art with transparent PNG. (Only when showing album art) 2) Keep aspect ratio, but still make the "white" areas which are used for wrong aspect ratios (anything other than 1:1) transparent. This will help the album art funtion alot. 3) The possibility to right click the BIG visualisation and disable the movements. This must be added, as the Spectrum analyzer is CPU-intensive at times. 5) There should be different sizes for Sorting Panes in XP and Vista. Exact sizes can be mapped if this is fixed before v3.0. 6) Two visual bugs; a. http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/931/artifactco2.png - It blurs the left side of the border when window is inactive. b. http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/4007/thethingbn9.png - That shouldn't be possible. I'm dragging the Tree under the album-art docked on the right side. This might be too big for v3.0; 4) Only if possible to quickly implement; the possibility to assign an area in the skin for a selected type of script. I'm thinking about teaming up with trixmoto to make a lyrics/tracks-viewer for the big area which occurs when you have a very wide screen and use my Glided-skin. 3) must be fixed, 1), 2) and 5) should added, but 4) is not likely (I realise) to implement yet. However, if it's easy to do so, please do.

Raising to 'immediate' for item 3 and 6. Preferably, we should use some existing strings (e.g. On/Off or Enable/Disable). As far as other issues, items Morten feels that 1) & 2) will yield major benefits in terms of how the AA window within the player appears. I'd defer most others unless Petr feels it's trivial. |
If 1) % 2) delays the release any further, skip it if you want. However, if there's time this will give skinners a huge benefit which ultimately will benefit MediaMonkey users. |

item 3 is done |

3) I think this function needs a context menu. Assigning to Rusty to review it. |
Added popup menu "Enable Visualization". |
I have tested the new functionality and this issue is still open; 3a. You can deactivate the panel, but it isn't possible to activate it again (in the same song). When you click and start another track (when enabled) it goes back to normal, but you can't deactivate and then activate on that track either. 3b. Once the visualisation is deactivated, it gets started again when you play a new track. Disabled means disabled. 3c. When you deactivate the big visualisation, the other visualisation also gets deactivated. There are two solutions on this problem; I. Divide it into two context-menus (one for the VolumeBar as well). II. Only deactivate the BIG visualisation. 3d. Also, it seems that it still does the analyzing even if the Visualisations are disabled. Assigning to Petr again. |
Fixed 3b, 3c. 3a will be post 3. |
I don't think 3a should be post-3.0. Russell? |
2) Is fixed in issue 3655. Added relationship. |
3a) On my machine, if I disable the visualization, it doesn't get re-enabled even after I re-enable it / stop-restart playback. The only thing that works is to close and then re-open MM. |
Fixed. Will be in 1080. |
3) Verified in 1081. However, we have number 6 left - and number 1 if Petr have time. |
Another request from Morten: 7) > One background state when <all tracks are selected - Now the > background color is only shown when all tracks are selected. There > will be a subtle difference when all tracks are selected in an album. > (Petr has to make this available) |
Items 1, 7 will be in 1185 |
Mostly fixed by now. Resolving. |
