Summary | 0000391: Enable/Disable Audio Effects from main menu
Description | User Feedback: Pre-beta tester indicated what sounds like a very useful feature--the ability to activate any installed DSP effects via the main menu. This would work as follows: Sub to the Player menu, there would be a section that is dynamically updated. To begin, it would contain: [ ] Equalizer [ ] DeFX [ ] Stereo Expander Enabling any one of them would be the same as activating it from the options menu. Note: this would activate all DSP effects, and would allow the user to configure _most_ of them (since most of the effects that have configuration settings have a pop up dialog that appears as soon as the effect is made active; some effects, though, require that the user configures it via the options/dsp effects/configure button). A nice to have feature associated with this would be to give the user control over the order in which effects are enabled _before_ they are enabled (i.e. use Up/Down arrows next to the installed effects list in the options menu to allow the user to adjust the order in which they are listed, and consequently, activated--note: this would imply that the arrows next to the 'active effects' would have to be removed to prevent inconsistencies).

I like the idea, I think that as the result there should be only one list box with all DSP plug-ins, with the possibility to order them, with a check-box for each of them in order to start them and with a configure button. Then the list of plug-ins could be also in Player menu as you wrote - in the same order and with the same boxes checked as in the options dialog. I would like to do this before the release... |
