Summary | 0003913: MM saves Album Art to tag even when configured not to
Description | If the user doesn't choose to save album art to any location in the 'Add Album Art' dialog, then MM saves the Art anyhow to the tag. Possible fixes are to: 1) fix this so that when no option is enabled, MM doesnt' save art to the tag 2) fix the UI so that such a situation shouldn't be possible. Current options are: [x] Save image to tag (if possible) [ ] Save image to album folder . . _folder.jpg_______________ [ ] Link to image file A better design (no string changes required) that would prevent this from occuring would be: a) (o) Save image to tag (if possible) ( ) Link to image file [ ] Save image to album folder . . . _folder.jpg_______________ b) Note: for consistency, the same change should apply to the Add Album Art dialog that appears via the Properties panel. Also the Auto-tag from Amazon dialog should also be changed from: [x] Save image to tag (if possible) [ ] Save image to album folder . . _folder.jpg_______________ --> (x) Save image to tag (if possible) ( ) Save image to album folder . . _folder.jpg_______________ c) In addition the following option would have to be removed from Library > Tags and Playlists > Image location: Save image to tag (if possible) and to Album folder I believe that the second approach is preferable, but if it liable to add new bugs, we can take the first approach and defer the UI improvements.

Assigning to Ludek to implement 1) which seems to be easier as a short-term fix and also gives user more flexibility (to save both to tag and to a file). |

I'm going to implement the 1), because the 2) is regression. As Jiri wrote and as Rusty agreed in the bug 0001633 The 1) gives user more flexibility (to save both to tag and to a file). - Requested at these links: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15964 [^] http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5613&highlight=album+art+folder+tag [^] Fixed in build 1100. |
