Summary | 0003930: Quicktime warning dialog doesn't work
Description | If the user tries to play an M4A track but quicktime isn't installed, the following appears: Quicktime is needed to play M4A and other AAC Tracks. Do you want to download it? [ ] In the future, do not ask me. [OK] [Cancel] If the user clicks 'OK', nothing happens. It should open a window in the default browser to e.g. http://quicktime.mediamonkey.com! Also, if the Now Playing list has a bunch of .m4a tracks, and the user presses 'OK' or 'Cancel' then the dialog just re-opens. The only way to get rid of it is to click 'In the future do not ask me', however, this is unclear since it just seems to the user that their instructions are being ignored. What should happen is that if the user clicks 'cancel', then the dialog should not appear for any .m4a tracks that followed the previous .m4a tracks without interruption by another format.

Fixed in build 1100. - Web browser window is openned now, we just have to set up our web site. - Technically it's problematic to implement re-openning of the dialog the way described. So I decided for another approach - if the dialog is about to be shown <20 seconds since the last one, it isn't shown. I.e. generally speaking in most cases it will work the way you asked for... |
