Summary | 0004304: Deleting Folders via My Computer Node can have unintended consequences
Description | If the user attempts to delete a folder via the My Computer node then MM deletes the entire folder and not just the contents of the folder that are displayed in MM. This can lead to unintended consequences. To give an example: User selects My Computer/Music/All and copies everything to a new drive. User deletes My Computer/Music folder thinking that all content has been copied (including .shn files that MM wouldn't have displayed). Potential solutions: 1) Get rid of the 'Delete Folder' option for My Computer Folders (short term hack). This forces users to use 'All' and then delete all tracks. 2) When the user attempts to delete a folder in the My Computer node give the following options: Are you sure you want to delete <Path> ? [this is an existing string] (o) Delete content displayed in MediaMonkey ( ) Delete all content [Yes] [No]
