Summary | 0004572: Find More From Same Location fails for scanned external podcasts
Description | If I download a podcast using an External Application (e.g. Juice) and then scan it with MM, the Find More From Same Location function doesn't work. Note that: -These same podcasts don't appear in the podcast node (bug 0004549) -Podcasts downloaded with MM don't exhibit this problem

Is not this just because of your active filter? i.e. default filter is "Music" which doesn't include podcasts. i.e. Switch to "None (show all tracks)" or use find more from same -> Folder (Computer). Is this the case? |
No filter is active. This occurs whenever I scan a track with Genre=Podcast into the library. Note: this issue is not a showstopper--I've tagged it as 'immediate' in case it is symptomatic of a deeper problem. Please push back in needed. |
I cannot reproduce :-( Are you sure that the track is really in your library? What you mean by "Find more from same Location", do you mean Find more from same "Folder (Library)" or "Folder (My Computer)"? Both work for me. |
I've just posted my DB to the ftp server under bug 4572. Search for BBC and you'll find 3 podcast episodes. Try 'Find More From Same Folder (Library)' and you'll see that MM can't find the tracks. The behaviour is the same as in the regression described in 0003692. |
I have to say that it works fine for me by using your DB. Strange, what could be the difference? OS? I am using Win XP SP2 and you? |
I just posted a debug log to the ftp. See line 119400--that's where I clicked 'Find more from same Folder (Library)' re. a track that had BBC in it. |
I am not able to reproduce although I have the same DB and OS as Rusty. Rusty indicated that 0003692 was also very difficult to reproduce--was often machine-specific. Something to do with My Documents handling... Jiri, could you check over whether it is a similar issue? Sending reminder. Note: 0003692 was fixed in revision 4177 (TreeManage.pas). |
Rusty, I have attached MediaMonkey.zip to the FTP, it contains MM1.exe and MM2.exe. Could you please try both and let me know if any solves the problem for you? Please, generate also debug log by using one of these exe files so that I could get more info about your My Document and My Music folders. Thx. |
I tested using the mm1 and mm2 exes. MM1 failed as before, but MM2 fixed the problem. I generated logs with both versions and posted to the ftp server. |
Rusty, thx, I probably found the tweak. Could you please test the MM3.exe attached on our ftp in MMbugs/bug4572/MM3.zip in order to ensure me that the fix is right? If MM3.exe doesn't fix the problem, re-generate log, please. |
mm3 works. |
Fixed in build 1160. Tech Note: There was also problem in My Documents / My Music folder handling. Especially media id has been forgotten to check. |
Tested 1160, and although this particular issue is resolved, there are some regressions (note: it's possible that these regressions are related to the fix for 0004579). New issues are: -In the Now Playing Node, for internally subscribed podcasts Find More from Same Folder (Library) doesn't work (though it does work for the currently playing track in the NP node) -In the Now Playing Node, for internally subscribed podcasts Find More from Same Folder (Computer) doesn't work (though it does work for the currently playing track in the NP node) -In the Now Playing Node, for internally subscribed podcasts Find More from Same Folder (Explorer) doesn't work (though it does work for the currently playing track in the NP node), and it opens up the web browser with an error of 'Directory Listing Denied This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.' |
These are not regressions, this is most probably another issue related to your strange organizing of My Documents / My Music folders. I cannot reproduce neither of these. If you are sure that these are regressions then it is related to another issue, can you check over this? If these are not a regressions could you re-generate debug log for the "Find More from Same Folder (Library)" case? |
Closing--I cannot replicate. Will re-open if I can. |
