Summary | 0004752: Send to -> Folder (Rip/Convert) should always default to create copy
Description | Reported here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30064 Selection tracklist right-click Send to... > Folder (Rip/Convert) > C: > Convert to C: fails to press 'Convert track(s) to new destination' in the Convert Track dialog box, meaning 'Convert track(s), replacing the originals' may be pressed, giving the wrong result, possibly losing audio data.

We should either a) always select "Convert to new destination" radio button in such a case or b) eliminate both the radio buttons and automatically convert to a new destination |
|
Option a) is preferable, but in truth I'm not sure about this. i.e. if we need it when using Send to, then why wouldn't we need MM to function in this manner when using Tools > Convert ? We could set the default in both cases to always create a converted copy (and not replace the original), but is that preferable to persisting the last-used setting? |
|
I also think that a) is preferable. i.e. If the persisted last-used setting is "Convert by replacing originals" then this setting is automatically changed to "Convert to new destination" when Send to -> Convert is used and OK button is clicked to start the conversion. Fixed in build 1184. |
