Summary | 0005712: Search Dialog: unclear whether it searches entire library, current selection, or active filter
Description | If the user presses the 'Search' button when the searchbar mode is set to 'Current Selection' or 'Library Filtered', the search is done on the entire library. There are two possible approaches to resolving this: 1) leave the current behavior but change the search dialog so that it always shows Search (Entire Library) 2) change the current behavior so that clicking the Search button causes the search dialog to operate based on the currently selected search mode. In that case the Search dialog would show: Search (Entire Library) Search (Library (filtered)) Search (Current selection)

A third: 3) Remove the association of the down arrow control that sets the scope with the Search button that doesn't follow it. (Currently these two controls are strongly visually associated - the buttons are touching and they share hover effect.) My preference is 2) |
