Summary | 0005899: AudioCD: Playback, Virtual CD, Sync Functionality Broken in 3.1
Description | There are numerous issue raised regarding VirtualCD functionality related to Audio CDs in MM 3.1 1. Audio CD playback and Management is broken in MM 3.1 (Video is uploaded to FTP) 2. Most likely related to 1. and incorrect CD detection Library Playcount is not increased when playing Track from VirualCD althru Now playing shows playcount increase (I Uploaded one MM Auto Script that will show Track ID and its existence in Library on Play Event) 3. Last.fm Do not Scrobble Audio CD tracks when MM incorrectly detect Playing track (tested along with 2.) 4. Sync Library tracks From AudioCD do not work correctly unless CDA is set into Auto-convert options as it copies CDA track instead of Converting to VirtualCD format or in case of Gold to CDA Auto Convert Format. Note I think this should work for both Free and registered version of MediaMonkey. (Video Is supplied on FTP)

This regression was introduced while fixing issue 0005500. Fixed in build 1300. Merged into 1265. Peke, re: item 4) - my guess is that it always worked this way, that sending a CDA track into a device caused the CDA file to copy instead of a converted file. I guess we should open another issue for this and add a new default auto-convert rule: [CDA, Any, MP3 128Kbps] |

4. added as 0005940 |

1. 2. and 3. fixed when CD is inserted, but it introduced regression with Now Playing Refresh. 5. Ways to reproduce: - Insert CD - Add all tracks from CD to Now playing - Use Send to -> Virtual CD to create one track - Eject CD - Go to Virtual CD - Start playback of track from CD - Insert CD and Now playing should reset tracks to Track 1, ... |

Reminder sent to: peke, rusty Peke, I don't understand what the regression is. Do you think that after inserting the CD, tracks should physically play from the CD? I don't think so, I think that tracks should always play from VCD location once they are on VCD. @Rusty, is that correct? |
|
Peke, I don't actually understand what the bug is. Are you saying that the problem is that the Now Playing node shows tracks as greyed out even after the CD has been re-inserted? |
|
@Rusty Tracks previously that show correct Info from MM library (Title, Artist, ...) Got reset to Track1, Track2 Names like Chris explained in 0005848. I've done test again with clean MM install using updates from 0005906 and could not replicate the issue. Other than that all working OK. @Ludek Depends, I would rather use Audio CD track in case CD is Inserted due the fact that MP3 128 VBR is not so good in quality comparing to CD and I inserted CD to listen in higher volume and in better quality. Anyway I would not make it high, but INI option would be nice to have. |
