Summary | 0005933: Playlist Sync: Linux Folder separator
Description | Recently I see more and more Players that uses Linux folder style for writing Playlists either in M3U or PLA like case of Archos and x.m3u in user reports: ---- #UTF8: /Music/Various Artists/KWJZ 98.9 - Smooth Jazz, Vol. 10/Serene.mp3 /Music/Various Artists/KWJZ 98.9 - Smooth Jazz, Vol. 10/Serene.mp3 ---- I know that we have already taled about that and that we noticed that some devices uses "/" as Folder separator but I can't find Mantis BUG#

I'm not sure what exactly are you suggesting - to use (optionally) '/' separator when writing playlists by MM? Is it required by some devices? |
|
Yes, exactly. Some devices uses "/" as folder separator as they use linux filenaming. |
|
I would suggest as addition to the checkboxes form 0006255: [ ] Force relative paths {tt: This causes the playlist to use a relative path to the files) [ ] Use 8.3 DOS-style filenames {tt: This is needed for some older devices} [ ] Use extended .m3u {tt: This format is used by some newer devices.} add also [ ] Use Linux folder separator ('/' instead of '\') {tt: This format is used by some devices.} |

Implemented in build 1301. |
