Michal, please check it out. |
Can't replicate, is that limiting only to M4A and/or MM without AAC plugin? |
I'm also unable to replicate this; tried mp3, flac, and m4a tracks (with MM aac plugin). |
I think you should remove the AAC plugin from the Plugins directory otherwise the playback is performed by using the plugin (f_aac_codec.dll) and not by using QuickTime (f_aac.dll). Nevertheless only M4A, M4B, MP4 and AAC files are played using these input plugins. The strange thing is that users indicated this behaviour for MP3 and WMA that are played via WM component. |
Also couldn't reproduce after removing f_aac_codec.dll with mp3, flac, or m4a tracks. |
The user filled in, that it happens randomly. After installing ASIO driver, the problem has gone. |
I doubt that it's something we can fix in MM, the underlying codecs/drivers have probably been changed and so there's some problem at the specific user's machine. We can try to help the user, but it's rather about finding what exactly fails (I think that he never explicitely wrote it's about mp3s, wavs or m4as?), whether different output plug-in makes any change, etc. |
I agree with Jiri on this. Especially as User pointed that installing ASIO plugin solved the issue. I would suspect on users Audio card Driver as to have ASIO output it must be Higher-end card (most likely USB one) Which is known that can make artifacts in MM due the Device PID changes in some cases. If user is willing to test I wonder if he can replicate same issues using onboard sound card and Direct Sound plugin. |

Peke, please keep this assigned. Feel free to Resolve in case there's no more info. |
Will resolve weeks after MM 3.1.2 gets out to ensure after user test stable version. |
we've never been able to reproduce, and have not seen reports of this issue in weeks. Resolving NAB. |
