Summary | 0006012: Edit mode: ALTGR fails to enter some characters
Description | See above.
Steps To Reproduce | 1 In tracklist press F2 2 On UK keyboard press ALTGR+e Expected: é Observed: Equaliser window appears.
Additional Information | MM uses CTRL+ALT+E as a shortcut for View | Equalizer, perhaps unaware that CTRL+ALT is equivalent to ALTGR (see article below) and that ALTGR is used on a UK keyboard for entering an accented character. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AltGr_key it is recommended that Ctrl+Alt not be used as a modifier in Windows keyboard shortcuts as, depending on the keyboard layout and configuration, someone trying to type a special character with Ctrl+Alt may accidentally trigger the shortcut Note: CTRL+ALT+E does not show as a Hotkey:

Ludek, you related this to 4305 "Shortcuts are Triggered in Edit Mode" but do note that the resolution of 4305 has not resolved this one. |
|
Same problem as for ALTGR+S (considered as ALT+CTRL+S), ALTGR+M (considered as ALT+CTRL+M) etc. |
|
> Same problem as for ALTGR+S (considered as ALT+CTRL+S), ALTGR+M Not here Ludek. ALTGR+S/M brings up a dialog (ALTGR+A doesn't), and doesn't fail to enter a character because it isn't supposed to (ALTGR+A is). |

Fixed in build 1272. |
|
Test note: verify that the issue doesn't occur when typing within the browser window as well. |
|
Verified 1273 NOTE: In case users Complain ALTGR is RightALT and when Using Special char users that have ALTGR Function on Right ALT should use LEFTALT+<NUM PAD NUMBERS> (ALT+NUM 125) |
