Summary | 0006507: Player modes don't support all contexts, yet buttons are not context-sensitive
Description | In testing with both Video and Audio files it seems that there's a bit of a problem related to the fact that MM has different player modes that are context-specific, and yet they are selectable when they shouldn't be. To be more specific: MiniPlayer: is currently only capable of handling Audio, but MM is currently designed to be able to minimize to it, and/or play video from a playlist even when this mode is active. MicroPlayer: is currently only relevant for Audio. Which is fine except for the fact that the user can minimize to the microplayer even with Video playing. Maximized video: currently only relevant for video. Which is fine except for the fact that maximize buttons may always appear. Full Screen: currently only relevant for Video. Which is fine except for teh fact that FS buttons will always appear in the player. Possible solutions: (1) the player skins should show buttons that change their behaviour/appearance depending on what is playing: If Audio is playing: show miniplayer/microplayer buttons. If Video is playing: show maximize/full screen buttons. (2) the miniplayer mode should always include a window of some sort (e.g. an Album Art window) that can play video.
