Summary | 0006737: UPnP: Scanning creates a lot of duplicates
Description | When I scan a Windows shared server, it creates >10 duplicates of each track. The reason is clear, each track has several URLs under which it's shared. It seems that we can't do much about it in terms of finding exactly which track are duplicates and so I'd suggest to use a heuristics: If a track has the same Artist, Album, Title, Length and File size as an already scanned track from the _same_ UPnP server, it should be completely ignored. Note that we could possibly also compare Extensions of files in the above described algorithm. It might be useful in cases a track is exposed both as mp3 and e.g. a flac, so that user can choose which quality to stream/play and one of them isn't silently ignored.
