Summary | 0006749: Show progress of several actions in Windows taskbar
Description | Currently we show progress of scanning tracks in Windows taskbar (Win Vista+), but some more actions could be shown. However, since the taskbar item can show one progress bar only, we should define priorities of the actions to be shown, so that in case there are more than one action in progress, the most important is shown. I think that the order could be: 1. CD/DVD burning // Here user is most interested in when the action finishes 2. Conversions (including CD ripping) 3. Syncing (?) // Not sure about this one, but would probably be useful for syncing huge #s of tracks. 4. Downloads (?) // might be nice to see progress of this 5. Scanning // For me the lowest priority, since it actually isn't a definite progress (we don't know exactly when it finishes)

Note that in 0006470 is was suggested to show track playback progress in this area. I don't think it would be really helpful, since then MM icon would actually still show some progress, which would diminish value of the other progresses shown (CD burning, etc.). |
