Summary | 0006793: Root Tree nodes without any content should open when clicked
Description | Various nodes do not serve any purpose except as containers to subnodes, thereby hiding key functionality. e.g. user clicks the UPnP server node, and nothing appears in the right-hand column, so they may not realize that they had to expand the tree in order to access the functionality. I would suggest that for such nodes, the tree should expand automatically when clicked (or double-clicked). This applies to: Playlists, UPnP node, My Computer, Net Radio.

I'm not sure, this is only a partial solution, the real one would be to support heterogeneous tracklist, i.e. to be able to show Playlists, Drives, etc. there. Since this isn't a trivial feature, I'm not sure whether we can get it into 4.0, probably rather 4.1. So the question is, whether the suggested implementation would make sense until then. I would rather say that no, since such non-consistencies often aren't accepted well and we would have to revert it later. |

OK. Just an idea... |
