Summary | 0007327: Tagging a file triggers audio glitch with WASAPI plugin
Description | Whenever the user tags the currently playing track, there is a very noticable audio glitch when using the WASAPI plugin. Similar issues occured occasionally with the DS plugin, but they were never as obvious or as consistent as is presently the case in MM4.

I can't reproduce, there doesn't seem to be any glitch, no matter how much I tag the playing track. Rusty, are you able to reproduce? The user mentions buffer size, which was only present in the old plug-in version, maybe the issue existed only there? |
|
The bug is easy to reproduce when tagging tracks over a network connection (though I've seen it for local tagging as well, but it isn't consistently reproducible). |
|
I'm still unable to reproduce, maybe my network isn't slow enough? Also, I don't see why it wouldn't work fine. Unless there's really significant different between MM 3 and 4 on your machine, I'd decrease priority to High. |

I can no longer reproduce this in build 1350. Tagging as resolved. |

Jiri, a forum user 'thebertster' is able to reproduce this issue consistently. Re-opening in case any of the information below is helpful: "No, I still have this problem I'm afraid with the latest build (1380) to varying degrees if I set the sample rate in Windows to anything other than 44100Hz. As soon as I hit a rating star for example, the audio jumps back anything from a few hundred milliseconds to a couple of seconds, depending on the Windows sample rate setting. If "smooth seek" is enabled, the jump back is smoothed. With the sample rate set to 44100Hz, no glitch can be heard. I have a Creative X-Fi Titanium PCI Express with the latest drivers from the Creative website. Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. The problem occurs even with all the Creative DSP enhancements disabled and the profile set to "Audio Creation" mode." |
|
As discussed offline, this can't be easily fixed and so it will be deferred as a part of 0007904. |
|
Re-opening as I can easily replicate the issue using Local MP3 File and Rating song from Nowplaying. I was not sure if this under 0007904 NOTE: Tracks That I rate are not in MM library. |

This is the same issue. |
