Summary | 0007779: Localization issues in build 4.0.0.1373
Description | Gege tested the final stringset for build 1373 and found the following problems (originally reported in 0007546) remain: 1) The strings below will show up untranslated in both scenarios: - On clean 4.0v1373 install; and - On clean 3.2.5 install -> 4.0v1373 upgrade Download of most recent language pack (based on v1373 catalog) was simulated by manually putting context.mo, default.mo and db.mo in correct LC_MESSAGES folder before MM first run. By manually adding the following set of strings in DB.po, and putting the resulting DB.mo in LC_MESSAGES folder, ALL remaining strings get correctly translated. #Playlist msgid "Recently Added" msgstr "Adicionadas recentemente" #Tools > Scripts (tooltip) msgid "Sequentially numbers files" msgstr "Numera os arquivos selecionados sequencialmente" #File > Reports (tooltips) msgid "Exports list of selected files to a .csv file" msgstr "Exporta a lista de arquivos selecionados para um arquivo .csv" msgid "Exports list of selected files to an .xml file" msgstr "Exporta a lista de arquivos selecionados para um arquivo .xml" msgid "Exports list of selected files to a .htm file" msgstr "Exporta a lista de arquivos selecionados para um arquivo .htm" msgid "Exports list of selected files to a .xls file" msgstr "Exporta a lista de arquivos selecionados para um arquivo .xls" 2) Removing the following strings from DB.po did not have any effect in interface, in both scenarios, so it's probably safe to remove them. msgid "Sequentially numbers Tracks" msgstr "Numera as faixas sequencialmente" msgid "Exports selected tracks to a .csv file" msgstr "Exporta as faixas selecionadas para um arquivo .csv" msgid "Exports selected tracks to an .xml file" msgstr "Exporta as faixas selecionadas para um arquivo .xml" msgid "Exports selected tracks to a .htm file" msgstr "Exporta as faixas selecionadas para um arquivo .htm" msgid "Exports selected tracks to a .xls file" msgstr "Exporta as faixas selecionadas para um arquivo .xls" 3) What do mean these strings in default.po? FSubscription ASwitchTab ASwitchTabBack ACloseTab 4) In first run wizard, 'Back' and 'Next' should be replaced with '< &Back' and '&Next >'. This is common place in any wizard. 5) In first run wizard, page 2 (Register), there's a potential text cut-off. In certain languages, like portuguese and german, some of the feature list items will wrap, causing the originally 7-line string to occupy 10 or more lines. As a result, the next block of text (starting with "To unlock all features...") will be overwritten. I was able to prevent this by shortening the strings, but some meaning was lost in the process. Proposed solution: a) expand width of the "MediaMonkey is free..." label next to the right border, so that it can use all space available; AND b) put the following controls (label "To unlock..." + registration forms + hidden error/success messages) 40px below (see attached screenshot).

Fixed in 1374 |
All five issues above verified in 1374. |
In 1374 some new strings (related to WASAPI plugin) were introduced, but there's one misspelling in this string: msgid "Event driven Exlusive mode (recommended)" msgstr "" |
Fixed in 1375 |
Regarding item #4, only 'Back' was fixed in 1375. 'Next' still remains. |

Fixed in 1376 |

Verified in 1376. All known localization issues are now resolved. |
