Summary | 0007809: 1374: Media Servers and Portable Device nodes keep showing Column Browser
Description | Despite disabling the Column Browser in the Media Servers node (and all other Collections) the Media Server node keeps re-enabling the Column Browser. The Portable Device node also shows the Column Browser, but it can't be disabled. Tested on skinned 1374 on XP.

Test Note: the Media Server node is currently supposed to render its view based on the same settings as "Entire Library" and other generic nodes. |
Rusty yes, it renders its view based on the "Entire Library" view. So I am not sure what the bug here is as if you disable the column browser in the "Entire Library" then it is no longer shown in a Media Server node. So is the bug that disabling the column browser in a Media Server node should disable it also in the "Entire Library"? I guess that it shouldn't. |
Yes--the bug is that edits to the view in the Media Server node should edit the view. We may decide that it should have its own view (independent of the 'Entire Library' view), but in the meantime, it should function like any other node wrt how its view is generated. |
Petr, I see that you added a seperated view for media servers in SVN revision 11099 while fixing 0007586. I suppose that this is because of Rusty's suggestion "the view for the Media Server node should have the Column Browser enabled by default" => this contradicts with the Rusty's proposition one note above. Nevertheless if we decided to have separated view for Media Servers then it should be editable. |
Note: The Column Browser was disabled in all nodes including Entire Library, but keeps coming back in Media Servers. |

Fixed in 1376 |

Verified that this works for Media Servers in 1376. It still shows for Portable Device nodes, but I'm writing that up to a problem in a previous build (ie remembered setting) as users can no longer enable the Column Browser in Portable Device nodes. |
