For documentation purposes, the following should be published somewhere - maybe its Wiki page could be created, so that users could share their experience with various soundcards? Note that also generic description of Exclusive vs. Shared mode should be added: ------------------- Advanced configuration shouldn't be needed in case everything works fine. There are however cases when Exclusive mode playback doesn't work well, becuase of incorrectly working drivers. In such a case, there are several parameters that can be changed in order to get a correct playback: 1. The easiest option is to uncheck 'Event driven Exclusive mode' checkbox. After this, audio samples are 'pushed' to soundcard, instead of being requested by the card. This often helps. 2. In case 1. doesn't help or you don't want to switch from Event driven mode, you can try to configure related buffer size. The default value in MediaMonkey is 100000, which seems to work best with most cards. Note that the default value retrieved from WASAPI interface is usually 30000, but it doesn't work well with many cards, causing various audio artefacts. |
