Summary | 0007906: Cannot quicksearch some new fields
Description | When attempting to search fields such as: series: Battlestar or Director: Spielberg, no results are returned. Similarly: Tools > Options > Library > Search doesn't list the various new fields that are supported in MM. However, it appears that searching for such fields does work, so the solution may be to modify the dialog e.g. Artist ---> Artist / Director Note to dev: please provide a full list of which fields are supported as filters in the searchbar (for documentation purposes) along with which have been added for the fix.

Fixed in build 1383. The following fields or their localized variants can be used in the form [FIELD: searchtext] 'Director', 'Artist', 'Album', 'Series', 'AlbumArtist', 'Album Artist', 'Title', 'Genre','Path', 'Composer', 'Lyricist','Conductor', 'Grouping', 'Lyrics', 'Comment', 'custom1', 'custom2', 'custom3', 'custom4', 'custom5', 'OriginalArtist', 'Original Artist', 'OriginalTitle', 'Original Title', 'OriginalLyricist', 'Original Lyricist', 'Publisher', 'Encoder', 'Copyright', 'Mood','Tempo', 'Occasion', 'Quality', 'InvolvedPeople', 'Involved People', 'producer', 'actor', 'actors' |

Rating (which works) is missing from your list, Screenwriter, Screenwriters, Parental Rating and ParentalRating are missing from the search box. As Filename is a column it should be considered as a separate option from Path. In Tools > Options > Search Lyricist should be Lyricist(s) / Screenwriter(s) Parental Rating is missing If Actor(s) is correct it also should be done for other multiple value fields (Artist(s) / Director(s), etc.) |

You are right, there are also numeric fields that aren't searched via searchbar until it is used in the form [FIELD: searchtext]: 'year', 'origdate', 'Original Date', 'rating', 'bpm', 'Disc#', 'Disc number', 'track', 'track#', 'length', 'bitrate', 'frequency', 'played', 'Played #', 'lastplayed', 'Last Played', 'channels', 'leveling' In build 1385: - added 'Screenwriter' field so it can be searched as [Screenwriter: bla] In Tools > Options > Search - added 'Lyricist / Screenwriter' - changed 'Actor(s)' - > 'Actor' Re: the 'Parental Rating', it is quite specific field, because it is not a numeric field, but also cannot be considered as text field to be added to Options > Search panel. I wouldn't add it now, but probably open a new issue with a lower priority for this case. |
