Summary | 0008138: Thumbnails don't update in the Art & Details window automatically
Description | Thumbnail fails to update upon generation in the A&D (Selected tab) window. Selecting the file triggers an update. This can be triaged down if it's not trivial to fix.

This isn't fixed in 1407. It can be tested as follows: 1 switch to A&D view 2 go to a location node containing a single movie that has a thumbnail 3 delete the thumbnail and then remove the file from the library 4 scan the folder --> Thumbnail is generated, but it doesn't appear in the A&D window or in the A&D view |

Here's a short video: http://screencast.com/t/tCVrB67O Associated debug log is posted as well. |

Based on Petr's analysis and further testing, there are actually 2 bugs: 1) Upon scanning a file, even though the parent directory is selected, no file is selected. This could be confusing to a user, but is probably not a bug (I can't think of an alternative behaviour that would make sense--i.e. if multiple files are contained in the directory, which one should be selected over the course of the scan??) 2) There's a refresh problem that causes the scanned thumbnail to not display if the scan is performed after switching nodes. e.g. 1 Switch to location > dir1 2 Switch to location > dir2 3 Scan dir2 (which contains a single movie) --> Thumbnail doesn't appear in the A&D view until the mouse hovers over the area where the image should appear Video of issue 2: http://screencast.com/t/BDIU0XWyRa6 |
