Summary | 0008571: Renaming a paused file triggers playback (video) / disappearing seek bar (audio)
Description | If the user renames a paused file (manually or via an auto-organize trigger) then: for Video files: the file will play for a second and then re-pause (though on some occasions it actually begins playing) for Audio files (tested MP3 only): the seek bar position is lost (this is only a visual problem) I don't consider this bug to be 'urgent' as far as MM4, unless developers believe that this is symptomatic of a deeper issue that should be resolved for MM4. Otherwise we should push it.
Steps To Reproduce | 1 pause a file midway through 2 right click > Properties 3 edit the filename and click OK --> the bug occurs

I'm not able to reproduce this in XP. In Win7, I can reproduce only repausing the video (it was always paused again) - it follows from the steps - remember position -> stop playback -> rename file -> start playback -> seek to original position -> pause, if it was paused. In Win7 it manages to play a few samples before pausing. |
|
I also can only reproduce the issue with videos, for audio files I don't see any seekbar position lost/change. |
|
I've changed the steps for build 1450, so it will pause playback before seek, it should minimalize the problem with repausing (but still can play video for a very small amount of time, I cannot pause video, which is not playing yet). |
|
Note: new forum post (same thread) shows the bug occurring upon tagging a paused track. |

Problem from forum fixed in build 1601. The problem was caused by AutoOrganize during tagging, it should be better handled now. |
