Summary | 0008921: Automated codec installation / purchase mechanism (Audio)
Description | The current implementation for automatic codec installation only works for video codecs and not for audio codecs. This means that: 1) If I double-click other .m4a files, MM presents a hardcoded prompt to install Quicktime, rather than whatever is specified at missingcodec.php. This is a major issue for OEM builds, which e.g. MM should send the user to the missingcodec script, which would in turn forward the user to http://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/browse/item/quicktime/ (which in the case of an OEM would presumably change to link to some other page). 2) If the user double-clicks an .isma file prior to having installed the codec pack, nothing happens (mm just skips the track). MM should go to the (MediaMonkey or OEM) missingcodec script and from there link to the codec pack.
