Summary | 0009017: When installing extensions ShowRestartPrompt should trigger a persistant restart warning
Description | As suggested in #8602, if an extension with ShowRestartPrompt enabled, and if the user fails to restart MediaMonkey, then the application window should provide some feedback that the application is running in an 'incomplete' state. Jiri suggested using an approach similar to Chrome in which a 'warning' icon appears in the Title bar (e.g. next to the MediaMonkey icon). This could be an exclamation mark icon, and it would have a tooltip consisting of the following (already existing and localized string): 'Please restart MediaMonkey to finish the installation.' Note: icons are attached (the one for the main app can also be used for Vitreous).

Another possible approach to consider would be to place the warning in the existing progress bar for as long as the reboot is required (other operations would overwrite the warning, but it would then re-appear after the other operation is complete). This would require no extra work, no extra icons, and is more consistent with the existing method of notifying users of status. |
