Summary | 0009268: Images for unknown album artworks
Description | There is still default ugly image for albums with unknown album artwork. Matej should design them. This description is copied from my common mail conversation with Matej. I suggested to create some set of images and application will randomly asign one of them to album. So the library views won't look so monotony. Matej sugested to find for whole set of images some common element. E.g. use contours of MM's logo in some variants (with circle, without circle, with CD instead of circle, ... ). Another approach is to use some collage (as posters), i.e. create own album artworks (again with common element). They can contain some MM symbolism - Canadian or Czech nature, ... . But this artworks will be very similar to original album artwork - it will be hard to distinguish between them. It can be both plus and negative.

Please add some opinion about it. |

We can take the same approach as is used in MediaMonkey for Windows. i.e. - For representation of Albums (on the home screen), use something like a CD - For representation of missing album art use a square with musical note (to represent an Album without its artwork) No need to use the MM logo, as long as all the icons maintain the style of the MM icon set. |
|
Note that we certainly can take the approach of other applications, where more randomly chosen images are used for empty artwork representation. We could e.g. have the 'musical note' image in several colors. That said, it isn't too important for the first version. |
