Summary | 0009374: Art Browser view: high CPU utilization
Description | The Art Browser still seems to suffer high CPU utilization and UI lag. The problem seems to occur: - everytime the user switches to the view CPU utilization is high, thumbnails don't appear, and the UI lags -- even if thumbnails were loaded previously in that view, and even if they were loaded during the same session (i.e. without restarting MM). This is likely related to image caching, but even after leaving the UI for some time, CPU utilization settles to e.g. 25% but it's still high. - when the user scrolls through the art browser (e.g. using the scrollbar) and/or selects different albums via the art browser, CPU utilization in the view goes up, but only goes down to 60% after the scrolling/selection actions stop (rather than the 25% described above). -when MM is maximized, the problem seems to be exacerbated (CPU utilization seems to double) -increasing/decreasing the size of the art browser seems to affect the problem Interestingly, the Art view and Art and details view don't have this problem at all. Note: the problem exists in 4.0.3 as well, so if the solution isn't trivial, we should push it.
