It's probably only that it isn't installed over Google Play (yet). |

This same happen to me today when trying to test MMA on Go Clever 7" Tablet with ICS 4.0.3 and I installed MMA directly from Google Store, So I retested with Nexus 7 JB 4.2.2, LG ICS 4.0.3 and SE xperia Tipo ICS 4.0.4 all ended with same results. |
Peke, did you sideload the apk or install from the store? |
In all cases directly from Store, I wasn't at home when found about this issue. EDIT: Install is initiated from devices browsing store, not from account that have registered devices |
This is not managed by our application at all. The desktop shortcut widget is created by Play Store application. Please check options of Play Store app and assure that "Automatically add widgets"(or something like this) is checked. I tested it and it works fine for me. |

@Marek, It is still happening to me. As today I had number of MMA installes/reinstalls and I can confirm that same thing happen using latest version downloaded from store. Is there and DDMS log I can create to confirm this? Assigning to Rusty for Confirming, |
This is handled as per last Marek's comment, i.e. it's handled by system. Note that it really is possible to implement Peke's link, but it isn't suggested or even documented interface. |

Assigned to me for post Stable release evaluation as more recent test on various devices point to relations where launcher controls the creation. |
On Some launchers like GO Launcher EX unless app send Create icon on Home Screen it is not created even by default icons for apps installed from Play store should be automatically created on home screen. MMA is not the only app affected. |
