Summary | 0009666: Video thumbnails performance is very slow
Description | When browsing through videos, the thumbnails are drawn so slowly that it appears that they're not even cached. Perhaps this is related to 0009650 ?

It works fine for me. To clarify, they have to be created the first time they are shown, so it must be slow, but then they are properly cached. Please reopen in case they aren't for you. |

This bug still occurs for me on build 27--but only on my phone (GB) and not on my Nexus 7 (JB). The phone contains numerous MP4 files generated by the phone's camera, and often, the Thumbnails are blank and/or take time to redraw. e.g. upon switching the phone's orientation, many of the thumbnails are temporarily lost (they only get redrawn by repeatedly scrolling up and down)--but only for video thumbnails. Also this device periodically crashes if orientation is changed to landscape prior to the Thumbnails being redrawn. |

In build 38, this seems to be an issue again on Xperia Pro (it's a 512MB RAM device) running GB. Mambo indicated that this is affecting them as well in build 37. |
|
I tried it with 600 video files and no exception was thrown. Thumbnails aren't redraw when orientation is changed. If device still crashes, please give me some log with exception. |

I have met the with little different problem now, after sometime thumbnails does not load never until refresh - fix in build 43 |
|
Retested build 43, and the problem re. failed rendering of some thumbnails seems to be fixed. However, the speed with which video thumbnails displays is far slower than the speed with which Album Art thumbnails display. e.g. on the Xperia Pro, scrolling through music tracks --> AA can be viewed as it scrolls. But scanning through videos --> the videos only appear after the screen stops moving. |
