Summary | 0009902: Synchronization with new iOS6 devices sometimes fails until iTunes sync is initiated
Description | There have been several reports of users attempting to sync with clean iOS6 devices or freshly updated iOS6 devices with MM 4.0.7, and after the sync appears to complete successfully, no music is listed on the device even though space was taken up by the music. In cases in which this occurs, the problem is resolvable by the following steps: 1) Remove all files from device using MediaMonkey 2) Sync 1 file using iTunes 3) Sync as normal with MediaMonkey

We need to try to replicate this, and generate a debug log. And device database could be useful, most importantly the new SQLite format database which is included within these three files for iOS5/iOS6: /Media/iTunes_Control/iTunes/MediaLibrary.sqlitedb /Media/iTunes_Control/iTunes/MediaLibrary.sqlitedb-shm /Media/iTunes_Control/iTunes/MediaLibrary.sqlitedb-wal |

Because we haven't found a user that can repro it during last month then I guess that it is something that is replicable only with newly bouhgt iPhone 5 that has never been connected to iTunes? I guess that iTunes might write something to the iPhone 5 on first connect. If this is true then I guess that debug log would be useless and I would need to see content of whole iTunes_Control folder to guess what it could be. Simple restoring of the iPhone in iTunes doesn't get it into that state. |

In ticket ID MFP-759561 there is maybe a user experiencing this problem (waiting for confirmation) The requested steps are 1. ZIP content of these folders: Media->AirFair Media->iTunes_Control->iTunes Media->iTunes_Control->Sync 2. Remove all files from device using MediaMonkey 3. Sync 1 file using iTunes 4. Sync as normal with MediaMonkey If it resolved the issue, ZIP again the three folders from 1. and send us both ZIPed contents (i.e. before and after the fix) |

Re-assigning to Ludek, as we seem to have the relevant info at MFP-759561 |

Fixed in build 4.0.7.1509 Note that the reason was that folder /iTunes_Control/Sync/Media/ hasn't been created. i.e. the issue can be simulated by deleteing /iTunes_Control/Sync/ folder by using e.g. DiskAid Now MM checks the folder existence on each sync start. |
