Summary | 0014086: Add 'Column browser'/Filter to more views
Description | As reported at http://forum.mediamonkey.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=87045 in item 1) The loss of the column browser is problematic for some users who rely on it in views other than 'Tracks'. Proposed changes: 1) Allow the filter to be enabled for other views. This would mean changing back to: View 1 View 2 --------------- [x] Filter 2) Allow the filter to be enabled for other Nodes. e.g. for Albums, Genres, Artists, Composers, Years, etc... along with their subnodes. 3) Allow the filter to be enabled for Playlists and Global searches (for regular searches, the view's setting applies). Note: - As with the current Art view, clicking an image opens the _filtered_ view, but clicking the link jumps to the unfiltered view. - Filters can apply to all views (e.g. Tracks, Art&Details, Browser, etc.) - Filters should persist only to specific views (e.g. if enabled for Artist/Tracks, it shouldn't necessarily be enabled for Artist/Browser).

Due to complexity, I'd defer 2) to 'sometimes later'. To be seen whether it's even needed, given the plan to implement the new Filtering. |

This seems to be already pretty much resolved, since most views offer Column Browser and also Filtering is available everywhere. |

Column browser is available in views where it's needed. The remaining issues are: 2/3) It should be possible to enable it in any view: 0015756 4) Enabling it in one view causes it to be enabled in other views: 0015584 |
