| Description | Album Art confirmation checkbox appears in two locations (Properties dialog & AA Addition dialog), however, the configuration options in the two dialogs are not the same, which results in confusing behaviour when the confirmation is disabled. For example: Properties version of the dialog prompts user for: - Storage location of Album Art (Tag/File) - [ ] In future don't ask me If the user checks off 'don't ask me', then it means that they simply want tracks to always be stored to the selected location. However, the result is that they are no longer able to choose whether to 'Apply to All tracks' via the Album Art dialog! We discussed several approaches over IM: a) implementing something along the lines proposed (adding Location functionality as a dropdown) b) adding another confirmation option--which I don't think is a great solution since users will not understand the difference between the two confirmations c) Getting rid of the ability to choose location on a per track/image basis and making this a clear-cut global choice. However, this probably isn't a real option in the short term. d) Maybe also the option 'Apply to all tracks' from Edit Properties dialog could be also available in options dialog. This way user could set the desired option for adding AA to tracks. However, this doesn't really fix the problem. e) Another alternative approach would be to simply eliminate the possibility of enabling the confirmation dialog via the Edit Album Art route. Option e) is probably the simplest/cleanest approach for now. | ||||
