I've seen such an issue mentioned in forums, but cannot reproduce it. Does it always happen to you or are there any specific steps needed? |
Yes this always occurs with me, though it might be easier to understand if I give specific repro steps: 1) Press <Insert> 2) In the Scan Folders dialog Check off a folder sub to My Documents 3) In the 'Selected Folders' textbox, delete the space between My and Documents, and then add the space back 4) Click the space just below the 'Selected Folders' textbox to trigger an update -->commas and /s are inserted where they don't belong. |
Ok, now I see, fixed in build 850. |
Verified 851. |

User reported that the problem still exists: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4057 After further testing, it seems that the problem doesn't occur when the path is enclosed with quotes, but it _does_ occur if it isn't! |
I don't understand - were you able to check some paths so that there appeared a path with spaces but without quotes in the edit line? Afaik, this shouldn't happen. However, in case you entered such paths manually, this is expected, paths with spaces are generally supposed to be quoted in order to make clear what is the full path and where is its end. |
The bug occurs for manually entered filenames, whenever quotes aren't used. Isn't the comma that separates entries sufficient for MM to 'know' where one entry begins and the other ends? |
Closed per IM discussion. |
Note: the reason it can't be fixed as suggested is that a , is a valid part of a filename so it can't be used as a delimiter. In the future, we should consider pasting the filename _with_ surrounding quotes. |
