Summary | 0020460: Switch to micro/mini player button should be changed on Windows 11
Description | I never used micro player, but I wanted to see if I should do something in my skin related to it. Since I cannot find it anywhere in the program, I searched Google about it, and just found that you have an issue with it on Windows 11, which is already reported in 0019615. So, if you cannot have it on Windows 11, you should remove its traces from the program completely: 1. The tooltip of that button should say "Switch to mini player" instead; 2. Click on that button should not open any additional menu, but to switch to mini player directly; there is no point to display that menu if it has only one item, i.e. "Minimize to MiniPlayer", which just requires one more unnecessary click.

OK, sounds reasonable, later we can add Micro Player back as addon (with a need to install also Explorer Patcher) as suggested in 0019615 |

Since you implemented my suggestion for the Mini Player button, I have one new related suggestion, let me know should I open a new issue about it. That button has very similar look to the button that many web browsers have for completely different purpose, i.e. to show list of opened tabs and/or actions related to them, and some of those browser have such button on the same place, immediately on the left side of the minimize button, e.g. Chrome. Since your program also deals with tabs that are located in almost similar way as web browsers, such look for the icon of that button could confuse users. So, I suggest that you use some another icon instead of the existing one. If you don't want to add any new icon, I suggest that you use showLess.svg or maybe upArrow2.svg. |

ok, changed the icon in 2829 |

Sorry, I gave you wrong suggestion - the choice of the showLess icon is not very good. Actually, none existing icon should be used for this purpose. I created my own showLess / showMore icons that are similar to the Mini Player button in Media Player and to the Show More Options in the Windows context menu, but they look strange when used in other places in the program like the icon after Top Tracks in Browser. I resolved that in my skin by incorporating svg elements in the less file, but that solution is not so elegant as when they are in external svg files. I suggest that you add your own icons that should be used to switch to Mini Player and back, independently of showLess / showMore. If you want, you could take them from me. |
