Summary0003280: simple hotkeys can interfere with textbox editing (e.g. can't search artists with a space)
DescriptionIf you set a hotkey to use a shortcut like "space" or a single letter instead of a combination, when you're typing in text boxes (eg, the search box or editing a field in the tracklist), that key no longer works for typing.

suggested solution:
while in the cursor is in any position for typing, "shift + alphanumeric character" or just "alphanumeric character" shortcuts should be disabled temporarily.
TagsNo tags attached.
Fixed in build1097

Raising to 'immediate'. This needs to be fixed either by:

a) Making the hotkey function only when the hotkey's function isn't already active as suggested by dale

b) Change the default hotkeys so that they aren't common keystrokes that will call the hotkey function unintentionally. i.e.:
-'General: Clear Searchbox and refresh' should not have a hotkey assigned
-'General: Focus Search box' should not have a hotkey assigned

I think b) is the better solution right now since a) involves more risk of regressions.

Should only be an issue with not deleted registry entries.

it actually IS fixed. There's another registry-related bug that caused this problem. Keys stored in HKCU/SW/MM arent uninstalled.
