Summary | 0003892: Creative Zen V: all kinds of weirdness
Description | There are a number of issues raised in the following thread, along with a video and debug log (backed up to our ftp). Hopefully you can decipher what the problem is--I can't reproduce any of this: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=110328#110328 1. "Copying XX of YY" status bar isn't being updated correctly--the count doesn't update in sync with the tracks copied (and "converting to mp3" never appears, even though converting is taking place--not necessarily in this particular debug log) 2. "1 track to be tagged" (tag update) appears over and over despite no changes having been made. What changes is MM making and why? 3. Tracks in the log file don't appear in order - the log starts off referring to Track 10... 4. Error dialogs during sync: 'The file xxxx is read-only. Do you want to change it?' Whenever the track is set to read-only in explorer. I thought that the sync plugin automatically syncs tracks even if read-only? Or perhaps this is in relation to item 2? 5. Didn't occur in this debug log, but user was complaining that entire library was being re-synched for no apparent reason.

1. I don't see any problem in the video. It seems to go well. 3. Tracks are synchronized in order dependant of device, playlist, track properties, etc. I don't see any problem here either. 5. Would need more info. ------------------------- 2&4. It seems to be related to tagging album art during synchronization. Assigning to Ludek to: 2. Check out whether it's really so and if it is, we should prevent showing the message in this case. 4. Make sure it's really the case and if so prevent the dialog, this should be automatic action on the temp file. |
|
According to a recent post by the user, this is all triggered by enabling 'Level volume when syncronizing'. Note: 1) Check out the video again--you'll see that the sync messages are completely out of sync with the status (x of y) indicator. |

Based on a forum post assigning back to Jiri, it seems to be all an issue with volume leveling. |

Another user (Maarten) provided some detailed information that may be helpful for this bug, or may be another bug altogether: A few days ago I posted the next post on the forum, but no one can seem to help me… So I hope you can… Please read: I recently moved my music library and MM to my new pc... Had some trouble with that but that's fixed.. or is it? Ever since I moved everything from my old pc (XP SP2) to my new one (Vista Home Premium) I can't seem to sync my Zen Vision:M properly. I can connect and MM will find my Zen and will transfer my songs, BUT not the way I want him to... http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_sad.gif I've always used these settings in MM: Sync to: "\Music\<Album Artiest:1>\<Artiest> - <Album>\<Track#> - <Titel>" This has worked fine over the years, but now MM puts all the songs in the root of my ZVM and only names them <Track#> - <Titel> (just: 08 - Waiting for Tonight.wma, etc. instead of P\Private - My Secret Lover\08 - Waiting for Tonight.wma). Quite frustrating... I'm hoping someone can help me with this, because I can't listen to my beloved music on my ZVM http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_sad.gif -------------------------------- Little update - I can sync with WMP (but I don't want to http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_cry.gif) - MM syncs only 1066 songs, not my 4000+http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_sad.gif. At 1066 my ZVM crashes/freezes. Don't know if it's because of MM, but with WMP this didn't happen... - MM places playlists in the proper folder (on ZVM: /My Playlists/) but not my music... - 'in the old days' MM sync my songs in order by artist, now he syncs them random... (not really sure about this) Associated WMLOG and debug log are posted to the ftp server. Since you ask for it here are the specs of my PC: - Windows Vista Premium 32-bit - AMD Athlon 5600+ - 2BG DDR2 - 1 DVD-RW - 1 HD (with two partitions: C:\ [OS] and D:\ [recovery]) - MM 2.5.5.998 - Default plug-ins + last.fm plug-in (scrobbler) - Zen Vision:M 30GB with latest firmware I’m really hoping you can help me with this. I love using MM. But it’s rather useless for me if I can’t sync anymore… |

Fixed in build 1100. - Issues 2&4 are fixed, other things described here are either different issues or not issues at all. |
|
My comment was wrong, 1&2 was fixed, additionally now I also fixed 4. So all should be ok at this moment. |

Verified 1102. |

According To this user he have problems with Album Art Sync on ZEN Steve Kendell <steve.kendell@tesco.net> Device Synchronization: I have a Creative Zen Vision M 30gb and on downloading the latest version of MediaMonkey I lost all my songs from the Creative Zen when I synchronized. I have loaded the songs back on but it has not taken any of my album art. I have followed the instructions under your help menu and this has not worked. It seems the only way I can get the album art onto my creative zen is to change the album title. Please can you advise me how I can get my album art back onto my Zen without having to change the album title of over 3000 songs? Many thanks |

We would need some more info from the user, this report doesn't tell much about the nature of the problem. Does he mean that the problem happens only to tracks without album name specified? Does it work well with MM 2.5 (if he used it previously) or any other application? |

Have not get any response from him after reply. |
