Summary | 0008658: Connecting USB MS device ---> AV
Description | In the course of testing 0008656, connecting a USB Mass Storage Device triggered an AV. MM had to be terminated via the task manager. eLog attached.

One way of triggering a similar freeze in MM is to: 1 Connect a USB MS device (it uses the WMDM plugin) 2 Click the device in the tree and perform a sync operation 3 Disconnect the device via Windows 'Safely Remove Hardware' tool (while the device node is still in focus) --> MediaMonkey freezes (or more accurately, parts of MediaMonkey's UI freezes; the tree, and tabs, and close buttons are non-responsive). |
|
Further testing reveals that the bugs occur only when disconnecting while the device node is in focus. |
|
I have only reproduced 0008659 and I believe it fixes also the freeze described two notes above. |

Re the original issue with AV on connecting device: I haven't reproduced it so far and also based on the log I haven't found a problem the corresponding parts of code. In addition the AV might be unrelated to connecting the device. Rusty also indicated that he cannot reproduce it anymore. Resolving until we found more info. |
