| Description | For a number of reasons, the workflow to play specific tracks is too onerous at the moment. e.g. To initiate playback of several tracks: i User clicks Artist > <Genre> > <Artist> > <Album> > <Track> --> track starts playing (only 1 track in that Genre) --> NP > Art view opens ii User toggles to NP > List view to see tracks iii User clicks back to get to list Browser --> NP > Art view ! (i.e. NP state doesn't persist--MM treats the 2 NP modes as separate views) iv User clicks 'back' several times to get back to list browser iii User hold-selects tracks and click 'Add to Now Playing' There are several items that can be improved: 1) Automatically skip hierarchy levels that contain a single entry in order to save clicks on navigation to a track and navigation back to the browser list (tracked at 0009664) (hopefully this will make our current UI easy enough to use that we wouldn't have to switch to hierarchical shortcuts instead of the current slide bar). 2) Add a 'Play now' contextual menu. That way users can initiate playback with multiple tracks without having to go through the steps described above. It should be positioned to the left of 'Add to Now Playing'. Note: The Play now contextual menu should not trigger a change in view (i.e. focus should remain on the browser list so that the user can choose more items via the context menu, in contrast to initiating playback by clicking a track) 3) The Now Playing mode (List vs Art view) should persist, so that if a user prefers one mode of operation over the other, MM switches to the last used mode (tracked at 0009734). 4) Allow user to single/multi select tracks without click-holding (tracked at 0009712) | ||||
