| Description | There are some aspects that can be improved in Video playback: 1. Pause video playback behavior will: a) Minimize to main view (no matter if playback is full window or Full screen) Un-pause will continue playback in last video playback mode (eg. maximized/fullscreen) b) Minimize button would minimize video player to main view, but un-pause would revert playback to last video playback mode (eg. maximized/fullscreen) 2. Add setting where user can set default playback mode eg. (Art and details/Maximized/Full Screen) NOTE: This can be also used for Music where in Case of Maximized/FullScreen Visualization would be started and PAUSE it would behave like for video explained in point 1. | ||||

1) a) this behavior would be strange for me. E.g. if I would like to make screenshot of paused fullscreen video, this would make it impossible... why this? Other players don't do it too. 2) I think it should use always last selected mode, no need to add it to some settings |

re 1a: I agree that it is bit Extreme thus I also added b) solution which in case of implementing 2. Re 2: ATM there is no way to go back to Now Playing and double click on Video to play it in Full screen again it start playback in Art And Details. Eg. Play Video in full screen -> Minimize -> Double click on next file in now playing -> Video plays in Art and Details instead to switch back to full screen. Only way to play Video in Full Screen is to Play Video in Full Screen -> Close MM5 -> Open MM5 -> Double Click on Video in Now Playing. Also there is no way to start Music Playback do not remember Last playback mode eg. add Video and after add music. Play video in Full screen and after it ends and starts playback of Music it switches back to main view instead of Start visualization and continue playback. I added Screenshots from several other players that have it, also KODI always play videos in fullscreen and have setting to play it in background/smaller window, even Plex have that option but not that easily accessible. |

3. When you play Mixed Video/Audio and when video is playing in fullscreen and next track is audio MM5 return to main view but Mouse cursor is not seen till you press escape and exit fullscreen. |

As talked with Michal offline: Use can customize player to contain STOP Button, it can too complicated for users, as they need to customize UI from start. Adding 2. Per Type would be more than useful as it is common feature for video players, users also requested that Music can be played in FullScreen and if Visualization is Disabled we can only show Track Info/Lyrics (NowPlaying View) Behavior that is most likely Expected in 3. is to be Able to play mixed types and that MM5 do not Switch Modes eg. If Fullscreen and Music file is starting MM5 either show Track Info (NowPlaying View if Visualization is disabled) or Automatically start Visualization. |

From my perspective, MM5's current behavior is what most users expect: - on pause/resume it stays in the same playback view - on Stop it reverts to the last used browsing view - on Play (of vidieos) it uses the last used playback view It could be useful to allow the user to configure default Playback views by Type, but I don't consider this to be that high of a priority. The root cause of the problems raised by Peke is really the fact that there's no Stop button. Because there's no Stop button for videos: - users must always minimize the video to get back to the Track Browser (extra step) - the last-used video playback mode is usually 'playing in the A&D window', which means that playback also usually starts in the A&D window. The easiest and probably the best fix is to add a Stop button to the default player skins when a Video is playing. The would solve the added problem of the A&D window not displaying 'Selected' content when a video is playing (though 0015157 will probably resolve that particular issue anyhow). |

Fixed in build 2260. Added Stop button to skins, where was missing, displayed now by default, so it is more clear to new users, that this button exists. It would be confusing to display it only for videos, so it is simply visible by default now and can be hidden in layout settings in all skins. |
